SEO Experts - iFrames?

Good day,

I need some expert advice, I use iframes to make the updating of my websites easier. I use one iframe for the navigation coloumn and one or two for adsense and affiliate products.

I was recently told that iframes are not welcome in terms of SEO and search engines. Is this true, if so what should I do??

Hi Oscar,

You should use SSI (Server Side Includes) with POSH (Plain Old Semantic HTML) instead.

Hi Oscar -
I would refrain from using frames. It makes it difficult for the search engines to read your web pages well which can hinder your rankings.

Like Don said, if you can (or you can hire someone to do it), use basic HTML instead.

I personally prefer CSS (cascading style sheets).

CSS or HTML instead of iFrames.. Why? Because its alot easier just like Kristine said.

  You want to keep your pages as plain as possible for SEO purposes which will mean getting navigational elements into plain, easily parsed, HTML by using server side includes.
  
  For more complex online applications with a lot of user interaction I recommend that you learn techniques like AJAX rather than using iframes.

I would use SSI lot easier to change a few elements at once across multiple pages.

Search engine do not like iframes.

I think also adsense not allowed to put in iframes but may want to check.

Search engines were not able to rank websites which contains flash and frames. But now a days the search engines are updated to rank flash websites but still there is no solution for frames..........i would recommend you to use HTML instead....
