True, which is why I don't understand how anyone can try and find them manually. I was tearing my hair out until I picked up Scrapebox and put together a method to find high PR, DoFollow blogs & posts. Even then, it can still take me a few days of off-and-on work to put together a large list.

All the seo techniques be helpful for quality backlinks but the need is to do it in right way. As by providing the quality and meaningful content on high pr and quality site ,one can get the quality backlinks, and it does not matter which method has been used for providing the content.

It doesn't work anymore due to Google's latest update.

Actually no - it technically DOES still work, but the PR scanner does NOT work anymore since they changed the server that scans the PR.

Unless the creator decided to update the tool to work with the changes.

But without a PR scanner, its kind of useless.. You don't know which sites are quality and which ones arent.

PR scanner still works in Chrome, though it comes and goes for me in Firefox. Actually, Firefox itself is going the way of Internet Explorer, so far as I'm concerned...

The best way to get quality, relevant dofollow backlinks is to guest post on blogs, whcih can be difficult to do if you don't know where to look.

Actually you do not have to build only quality backlinks. I always mix it up - blog comments, forum profiles, social bookmarks, article submissions etc. When it comes to "quality" backlinks I think the best backlinks you can have are high pr contextual backlinks. But when I am dealing with a smaller project and do not want to invest in costly high pr contextual backlinks then I order high pr blog comments from my outsource team.

But remember that backlinking depends all on your competitors. When you can find low competition keywords then ranking is quite easy even with a small number of not so quality backlinks.

  Just log in to your squidoo.com account. Then click on this "add to this list" button then you will be shown a box where you can add the anchor text with the keyword of your wish.

Sign in in squidoo and Search about Article with topic like articledirectorylist, squidoo list. Etc you got link with "add site option"
