what's wrong with my site

hi, i have this blog for about 16 month now, the traffic is low but steady, about 300 impressions/day, and about 200 UV, 90% of them comes from search engines.

the thing is the ctr was good before september, but from then it has been reduced severely, now my CTR is 1/4 what i'm used to have !!!!, i don't know what's wrong with the design or placing, i changes the template and did few tweaks, but it turns out bad, i really don't want to return to the old template, it's ugly and collect many bounces unlike the new design that makes the single visitor stuck for a long time in the site, but somehow ignore ads...

my blog named "astromic's backyard" , sorry can't place links, but it is searchable easily in google.

please help me solve this riddle.

        You have a nice blog here,

        but I think the frontpage contains so much posts !

        You need a better ads placement

        Did you try to display less posts on the frontpage ?

        You might also try a magazine style template

          i didn't tried customizing the front page, as all my visits come to posts from searches, but anyway i'll try to reduce the number a bit and see..

          what do u think about ads placements? do u have any suggestions for better places?

          magazine style template or any other template package will delete any meta tags, tweaks and SEO modifications, and i'll have to do it from the beginning, so i'll leave that to the far end, after using every card i have..

            Please the sidebar to the RIGHT for starters.

            Your site is currently NOT in regulation with adsense TOS, because the sidebar with the "REcent posts" section has the exact colours and everything as the ads bellow. This was discussed thouroughly in the Adsense Policy Webinar a week ago, so get that fixed at once.

            I had much greater results with the RIGHT sidebar (leave the recent stuff out). Also put Text&Image ads if you didnt already.

            And last but certainly not the least...get some CONTENT on there. Posts with nothing but pictures will a.) not show related (or any) ads b.) you will not crawl the SERPs c.) doesnt add value.

            Look into these basics first then come back with the results in a few months.

              thanks' for the vital info, maybe i didn't understand "get ads blended" theory correctly, i already fixed it, and thank you for your input, i believe that's more important than increasing CTR now..

              i replaced the skyscraper ad at the right with image/text and changed the text colors..

              for the posts, i guess it got rich unique contents, maybe few recent posts has images only, but the majority is rich articles, i use the "read more" feature, so the front page will lack of content unlike the post itself. search engines leads the visitor inside the post anyway i guess, where the contents are..

    I don't see ads. You blog is soo colorful. Please try text ads only. Add big 336 rectangle above and below posts. Also, add one long link unit. Link unit works well in such type of niches.

    Please start working on new blog where people desperately trying to find some thing. Those niche surely will get lot better CTR. Will you always try to pursue some thing which is not profitable?

      i believe you can't see ads if you use ad-block or something relevant, this is a very annoying problem to many of us nowadays. and i believe that's a main reason for the common low ctr these days alongside with global events..

    I didn't look because it's a blogspot blog and you don't control the backend. So who knows... there may be things going on by the Administrators that you have no control over. How would you know?

      yea, it's a problem already when reshaping even the smallest details...but i guess there is a fare limit, even if i know i won't pass it..
