Domain and SEO question!

I am trying to start my adsense sites, but I am kind of confused on what domains I should purchase. Everyone says have the keyword in your title, but what if all the keyword domains are taken?

I see that most domain registrars will recommend you add the words "best" or "the" or "shop" somehwere in the domain name, but does that effect how well your site does?

Say I want my keyword to be "blue couch", would it be fine to get a domain such as "thebluecouch.com" or "ebluecouch.com"?

Thanks guys!

Yes, it's best to get the EMD, but if it's not available just get another domain extension like .net .info etc, if those aren't available then add a prefix or suffix like thebluecouch or bluecouchhq

If you cannot find the EMD use help/info/sit as stop words at the end of the domain.

It would rank well for "blue couch site"
It would assist in "blue couch" and "couch" but is still going to take some work to rank.

I think that if you go for couchblue.com you will get what you want, the order of keywords is not necessary important especially if the domain is only two keywords A friend of mine did some testing and that was his findings, and from a few quick and dirty searches I think it holds true.

When it comes to Adsense, content matters a lot. If you are creating websites solely for Adsense... I would advise you to target keywords in your domain name.

On the other hand, if you are planning to get Adsense approval for your website which is selling products or services, get a domain name that promotes your brand.

I see plenty of .info and .biz out there in some fairly large markets.
I think that the "major" .coms have just been held long enough that they have the factor of age behind them. Not just the age of the domain but the time spent spreading on the Internet and getting aged backlinks.
But I will admit that when I have owned both the .com and the .net of a domain, that the .com has always outranked the .net from the beginning. But this may just be happen chance.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engine via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. SEO goes a long way toward making your website successful because it energizes your site content and structure for maximum effectiveness.

keyword optimized domain name does not gives you a great leap of advantage in SEO.

bear in mind that CONTENT IS KING.

plan on what you want to write rather than spending more time in your domain name
