Some people advocates pinging your backlinks so Google can find them, and then others say do not ping your backlinks so Google can find them naturally. And even some say it is better to boost your backlinks with "backlinks booster" or "backlink index express". Who's right? Who's wrong? And why?
#ping

Linklicious is the only thing I use for that, even then I am unsure of how much benefit it actually provides.

My advice is to build backlinks on indexed platforms so you don't have to ping them like profile links. With indexed platforms, Google spider is going to visit them anyway so naturally your links will be found. And yes, pinging too much of your mass backlinks will do you harm.

Indexed platforms, from my understanding, are things like wikipedia, or facebook which gets regularly indexed by google because of the high page rank. I tend to ping new content so that it appears quicker within google so that I can do my SEO strategy to that particular page within the site. Over pinging can be a problem, generally pinging new content once should not hurt you. It is up to you if you want to ping after your back links are up or before your back links are up.

You need to check your tracking logs and if you see robots are regular visitors to your site there is no need to ping. however on occasion when you publish press releases its a good idea to ping Google or submit the url of the press release to Google unless this is done on your behalf from the press release site.

If you are having a static HTML site, or other sites which are not build by wordpress, you will have to find pinging sites and enter your website’s information and basic data, such as your website’s address, and the site or page or even post’s title then you should find a button to start pinging.

There is no harm in pinging the websites as this would let the search engines know that the site has been updated.

From my experience, I only use pinging when I publish a new content on my site or blog. I don't ping backlinks, Google will find them anyways.

    • I agree with the others that over pinging can do harm. But pinging your site, if you have a new post, is great way to tell google of your updates. You can also social bookmark your post first before pinging, just to boost it a little.

I think this has gone a little off topic, my original question is whether to ping the backlinks and not about pinging content.

    1. There is no harm in pinging, in fact it is recommend for inviting crawlers to your websites frequently.
    2. Do not use artificial methods for boosting your backlinks... Its better to do link building manually. And never ever ignore the quality of backlinks. With quality, I mean, relevant backlinks from high PR websites.
