Hey warriors,

I've been using all-in-one-seo plugin for all my wordpress blogs for years now.. And now i'm currently setting up a new blog and want to experiment with something different.

What do you think is the best seo plugin for wordpress?

I use the Platinum seo plugin for my niche blogs. I also use Seo Friendly images. Those are both free.

A paid plugin I use is WP traffic force, according to the description it: Strengthens on page SEO by adding new internal linking (tags) using the keywords used by visitors to find the blog post from search engine (incoming search terms).

Yoast Wordpress SEO. Seriously. Small, the fastest plugin, and really what all the major sites use. Anything else you run risks of problems and compatability issues.

    Thanks Amy!

I will check out that wp traffic force, maybe it will help me rank more for various long keywords.

    Hi Mike,

there are lots of good SEO plugins available for WP. Here are few of them which you might like:

All in One SEO Pack - One of the most popular plugins ever for WordPress, this plugin does a bit of everything for you from helping choose the best post title and keywords, to helping you avoid duplicate content and more.

HeadSpace2 - This plugin allows you to install all sorts of meta-data, add specific JavaScript and CSS to pages, suggests tags for your posts and a whole lot more.

Platinum SEO Plugin - The Platinum SEO Plugin offers you such features as automatic 301 redirects for permalink changes, auto-generation of META tags, post slug optimization, help in avoiding duplicate content and a host of other features.

SEO Smart Links - Interlinking your blog can be the key to getting more people to read more of your posts, but it is time consuming and tedious to do it by hand. SEO Smart Links does this for you automatically when you tell it what words to link to what URLs, and it also allows you to set "nofollow" and "open in window" comands for the links.

SEO Title Tag - Your tags are an important part of your site for making sure that search engines know where to place your posts, and SEO Title Tag focuses exclusively on this. Unlike some other plugins, and WordPress itself, this extension will allow you to add tags to your pages, your main page and even any URL anywhere on your site.

Google XML Sitemaps - An essential tool in any blogger's armory of SEO tools. While the name only mentions "Google," this plugin creates an XML-sitemap that can be read by Ask, MSN and Yahoo also.

When you talk about about SEO plugins, there are really two categories.

    1. SEO plugins that assist/enhance the content on your site, eg: creating internal links, assisting with keyword density, LSI etc.

    2. SEO plugins that use meta data (the content search engines can see, but not visible as content), eg: description, title etc.

Yoast by a long shot, Had platinum seo on a number of sites and since changed them to Yoast . Yoast is light weight and has its own Breadcrumb and sitemap generator so not only does it do the job (imo) much better than All in one and Platinum but it also saves resources by combining alot of features that would normally be found on individual plugins.
