Google Analytics or Recommendations for other Tracking?

I'm looking for something to help me track & grow my own network of sites.

Many people use Google Analytics, and the Webmaster tools are nice, in that you can see all your stats in one place. But I don't love Google seeing all my data.

1 - Can anyone suggest other tools / systems for tracking (free or paid)

2 - Your feedback & thoughts on GA? On one hand I do not love Google seeing everything. On the other hand, if they see a lot of page views and time on sites with a visitor, they probably reward you for it...

    It's free, open source, and has a lot of features.

    I some times feel that google analytic shows random results. I own 1 website which is on health theme, & analytic shows that i get 120 visits per day which is absolutely wrong as my site is not ranking in search engine anywhere. I think we must try Piwik - Web analytics

    I would say Clicky is one of the best Google Analytics alternatives that offers real time visitor tracking.
