I cant seem to get the SEO feature to work today
first times its happened to me

Still not working.

I've not been able to use it all day - and before that, auto-update was broken, so I wasn't able to use it then either.

I understand that issues like this happen, but I sure wish Noble Samurai was more responsive. MS isn't a cheap piece of software, and to have such limited support options is bothersome.

I've been using Market Samurai since 2009 and it's always been a bit spotty with respect to the program crashing when looking to pull SEOC data. There is no doubt that I still use Market Samurai during the day for SEO research, but as of lately I've been relying on the data from SEMRush and serpIQ. Speed and reliability is sometimes more important when looking to get a quick look at search volumes, competition, etc.

Other the other hand, Market Samurai is great for finding related KW's in a niche and drilling down based on the filters you set. It most certainly has its purpose.

I was forced to install a new copy just now. I only use it to check my rankings.

Its about 2 days now that MS is not working...
Only few minutes ago it started to work again BUT the rank tracker module has BIG TIME WRONG RESULTS

Yes mine is freezing when searching Keyword comp.

I closed MS some hours ago, now I restarted it and it says there's an important update available... I'm installing it right now and I'll see if this update fixed all the issues

the seo competition module is ok, but the rank tracker doesn't work fine for me

I also had same experience but now seems working perfectly after installing new update

It is making me completely re install a new version

Good time to switch to Traffic Travis v4. So much better.

I've been having ongoing issues and also working with support. As of this morning, they had me install the latest - 0.88.08 which solved one issue but rank tracker is still not working for me...they are definitely working in it though so I suspect it will be sorted soon.

Mines all sorts of borked, glad that I checked the forums on here first.

Guess I'll just wait it out since the latest update really didn't do much for me.

How about everyone else? Did the update fix the problems for you?

mega slow for me since the updated version reinstall

like been stuck on 3:33 for 10 mins, with estimated time left of over 6 mins, when project would usually take about 30 seconds to complete. (this is for rank tracker)

The Rank Tracker has become somewhat of a joke recently - there's really no point in search beyond the top 100 because it either doesn't find the results or its wildly wrong.

Since the new 88.08 update its just a disaster all the way around. Sites that I know are ranking in certain positions don't show up as being ranked at all. Its just hangs for minutes at a time while trying to search Google for results.

Last time it was this crap they let us install it on an extra machine for free. Wonder what we'll get this time?

I hear Article Samurai is also having big support issues - DAYS to get things approved and sometimes no responses at all. On one forum I'm on everyone who signed up have quit their membership.

Yup, my SEOC data won't load at all, and everything else either takes waaaay longer than normal or quits before it finishes displaying info

loaded the required update yesterday and another one today - but near the end of the ranker tracker check minutes ago - i got a message about a cloud time out, or something like that. looks like th wait will be another day at least before rank tracker is working like it is supposed to. i did get a BL total, but they did not zero out like they normally do during my morning check. jim

im still getting most of my KWs out of the top 200 however when I look at my rankings in Traffic Travis, Im still #1-5 for many of them..

So I guess MS is still not working well.

I'm not getting any errors, but the software is apparently not updating ranks properly.

I still prefer MS, but this seems to be becoming more and more common. Hopefully they'll either clean up their act or a viable competitor will appear.

Would be great if they can sort the Rank Tracker issues. Being on the fritz for a few weeks now. Good to know they are working on it.

I wonder what the best alternatives are? anything cloud based?

I use IBP to check ranks only. I find Market Samurai's ranking data unreliable.

well after the 3rd update in 3 days - it seems to be running better than it has in any of the past 3 days. here is what MS wrote to me. this would be a hassle, i asked they resolve this with a programming fix.

"It's not so much how many keywords you have in Rank Tracker in one project file, but how many you're trying to update at once. We normally recommend that, if you're going to update all your keywords at once, you keep to less than 40 keywords in one file. You can, however, successfully have more than this in one file if you're prepared to update only a handful at a time. To be honest, if you select 20 and update those, and then select the next 20, etc. etc., until you've updated all your keywords, it will probably take you about the same time as running the full 170 keywords in one go. It will also be a lot less prone to time out-errors, and incorrect data being returned. Can you please try updating only a portion of your list at a time, and see how it goes?"

Is anyone getting Rank Tracker to work, period? It doesn't seem to be updated any keywords with what their rank is.

i spoke too soon - i am running a rank tracker now for about 10 minutes and it is stuck at 88% : (

It is getting a bit farcical now. Market Samurai has slowly deteriorated since I first bought it back during the 30DC in September 2009, despite many updates and total re-installs.

I guess it's a reflection of the lengths that the search engines will go to to not have their content scraped. It was an excellent tool and has well overdelivered on the $97 or so that I paid back then. However, I think it's either time for the guys at MS to have a complete revamp of the software or time for me to move on. I'm certainly looking around at alternatives.

It could just be issues with the server, 100% uptime is hardly guaranteed

as of yesterday - rank tracker - at least seems to be working again. it is the feature i use most : )) MS can't control the data it receives.

Any updates on this? My Rank Tracker is generally slower than usual, and it doesn't' seem to be updating properly. For many of my sites, my keywords seem stuck in the same position every day (compared to usual volatility that comes with new sites).

Any thoughts?

mine seem to work again. However Im slowly drifting toward Traffic Travis for rank and backlink tracker. It just feel faster and lighter.

For me, MS hasn't worked like it used to in a few weeks. It gets hung up on Rank Checker all the time and in generally slow. I also get the sneaking suspicion that it's not giving me accurate data.

For myself, I have already gotten myself used to the hipcupps from time to time. Don't worry, they are usually fixed in 1 - 2 days.

Remember that Market Samurai is still a Beta version.

Yeah, i noticed a few "lose weight" keywords had 0 competitors, haha - knew something had to be up!

The more I read about the bugs the more I don't want to spend my money. I can't even get the trial version to work properly for me so why would I spend like $150? I wish it worked out for me because I hate using GKWT but Oh well I guess its back to the basics lol

If you want an alternative and you're not sure about market samurai then Niche Finder is a good one. Its on here. I have and use both.
