How would you link build for this niche?

Hi Everyone
I have a site which makes $1000 a month but needs to links as its only really run on its own steam until now
Its in the toy niche so I was looking at seeing whos picked up ezinearticles.com articles and going to offer them a unique article
Going through, sooo many sites are either adsense sites in disguise or blogs which are on blog networks so no contact us page and i dont really want to use them for links
Anyone have any ideas how to get links for this niche as theres no decent magazine type sites that would take articles
