Hello. I have been very successful in my business with (basic marketing) envisionfreedom.net which it's purpose is strictly for lead generation where I put them through a process that generates $1,$5,$9 profits. I have been succesful at this as I have great communication skills but something is lacking - MARKETING.

In my industry, competetion is obviously fierce! When I am searching for long tail keywords, it is only showing that it has been searched 2, 3, or some low number as word tracker states. So my first question to you is, if we are supposed to tightly group our adgroups with approximately 20 keywords per ad group, how many several AD Groups throughout all my campaigns will I need, in order to show enough ads throughout the day to generate leads?

Keep in mind that my ideal person is someone who wants to make money and is into personal development so it's endless how I can go about this yet extremely competitive.

Also, when creating an adgroup, take for example, if my root word is: make money online
Make money online is obviously expensive to bid on, so how would I work off this keyword and what would you suggest?

Please forgive me for being all over the place but I am great at following someones lead and figuring stuff out. I guess I am looking for some type of guide, blueprint to build my campaign the right way, landing pages, whatever and pay the price for success.

I can afford to invest $5,000 to make this work. Will that amount help? What steps do I need to take? I have read perry marshal and beating adwords, what other info am I missing? Any help is appreciated. Thanks for entertaining this mindless dribble.

Use Google Keywords Tool - it will show you better results.
For each keyword, assume you will get around half the total search volume shown. Keep in mind that it is monthly volume. So, divide by 30 to get daily volume.

Let's say i use the root keyword: "make money online"
If I find some long tail keywords like "make money online information for legitimate companies" and the search results are like 2 per day (as wordtracker predicts) how am I supposed to go about setting up my adgroup and grouping appropriate keywords in there?

I feel so lost and would appreciate any guidance. What do you recommend I read, follow, any blueprint that I could use to lead me in the right track? Thanks!

any samples of campaigns with adgroups and keywords grouped together? Thanks everyone.

    envisionfreedom,

If your niche is so fiercely competitive, be prepared to bid a bit higher for medium volume keywords, or get traffic from other sources.

2 per day: assuming you get 100% impressions, and can covert 10% of the visitors, and assuming (an extremely generous) 10% CTR, you will get 7 leads ***PER YEAR*** per keyword. Is that worth the effort? It depends on your goals.
Also, if you have around 1000 such long tail keywords, suddenly, that number becomes 7000 leads, which is a decent number.

      Hi envisionfreedom,

There is much to learn about SEM and you need to understand that it is going to take a while to learn basics and even longer to get to the intermediate level and much longer to master some of the advanced concepts and strategies. In other words, expect a fairly steep learning curve.

In my industry, competition is obviously fierce! When I am searching for long tail keywords, it is only showing that it has been searched 2, 3, or some low number as word tracker states. So my first question to you is, if we are supposed to tightly group our ad groups with approximately 20 keywords per ad group, how many several AD Groups throughout all my campaigns will I need, in order to show enough ads throughout the day to generate leads?
It's a good idea to test every appropriate keyword that has sufficient search volume. Low volume long-tail keywords can be good, but you need lots of them.

Don't think of 20 keywords per ad group as tight. That should be the maximum and only that many in Content Network only campaigns. On the Search Network you should have one keyword per ad group.

Most of my campaigns have at least 10,000 ad groups and if it gets to be more than 20,000, I usually look to split it into multiple campaigns.

You need to track the performance of each individual keyword and ad, and should be testing at least two ads at a time for each keyword.

I guess my biggest concern is keeping adgroups relevent with the appropriate keywords. Also, understanding what keywords to group per Adgroup confuses me also... How many keywords do you suggest per adgroup? and also, does this mean I am going to need a unique landing page for each adgroup?
Again, one keyword per ad group, two ads per ad group and be sure to use the keyword in the ad text.

Having unique landing pages for each keyword would work well but may be too much effort. Instead consider using a dynamic script to insert the keyword in your page headline and you should be good.

It's a really good idea to buy or build you own tools to automate this work where possible, you can bet that's what your competitors are doing.

Interesting. I guess my biggest concern is keeping adgroups relevent with the appropriate keywords. Also, understanding what keywords to group per Adgroup confuses me also.

Take for example, lets say my campaign is personal development and within my adgroups i want to use different books, or concepts like "law of attraction". Does that mean, law of attraction would be in one ad group and "the secret" would be in another one? How many keywords do you suggest per adgroup? and also, does this mean I am going to need a unique landing page for each adgroup?

I wish there was a blue print that I could follow!! errrrrrrr.

Writing detailed answers to all those questions will involve writing a book

    A brief answer:
Use similar themed keywords in an ad group.

    Example:
    law of attraction
    law of attraction book
    attraction law
    what is law of attraction

etc will go into one ad group.

Number of keywords in one ad group - a bare minimum of 15. Ideally, 30-50. Sometimes, there may be 60-80, don't bother too much. But this will give you a rough idea about the numbers.

You do need to make sure that the LP is targetted to the theme of the ad group. You can generate these on the fly, if you are savvy enough. If you are just starting out, create one LP for each ad group yourself.

Dburk. Thankyou very much for that reply. I needed a good smack in the face. I am ready, willing and able to take this on. So when you say buying your own tools to automate this what would you recommend? I am going to convert envisionfreedom.net to wordpress and figure out a way to easily create new multiple pages for different landing pages.

      Hi envisionfreedom,

All you need to insert your keyword in your landing page is a single line of code:

      Code:

      <? echo $ _ GET ["kw"] ?>
(Spaces added to prevent errors with forum code).

Just add ?kw={KeyWord:} to your destination URL

I use a variety of tools for my keyword research most of which you will find recommendations for on this forum, one that I haven't noticed on this board is the Permutator, I like it a lot. The real time saving tools that I use are proprietary tools I built for myself.

At the time I built these tools, there was nothing I could find that would do what I wanted, the way I wanted to do it. I have since seen new tools hit the market that probably work reasonably well. I can't vouch for them since I don't personally use them.

The tool built by Hendra, a member here, appears to do some of the same things my tools do, though I haven't personally used it.

      HTH
