There are no free software but only a bait to sell some thing else. Its better to avoid them.

Actually I have never heard of a free backlink software although I am using a software that is not free but if you found one for free then there's not a lot of risk involved.

make sure to let everyone know how it works if you give it a try

Don't waste your time for free backlink software, 99% they won't bring you any results and in 1% only small ones so it's a complete waste of time.
And yes nobody gives good stuff away for free..

The thing is with these links is that they never get indexed, and when you start to backlink your backlinks they might get indexed but after a while Google will de-index them again so its a temporarily solution (or in other words just a waste of time).

Only thing they are good for is getting your site indexed and positioning yourself in the rankings based on the content you are offering.

You can do a lot of things yourself for free that WILL work, think of:

        - Youtube video with link back to your site
        - Free press releases
        - Relevant blogcomments on pages with a high Pagerank
        - Making a facebook fanpage to link back
        - Twitter
        - Submit your articles to the TOP3 article directorys (again it makes no sense to submit your article to 1000's of directory's cause they simply won't get indexed often enough)

Paid services you should think of private blog networks, they are relatively expensive but they DO work.

Final note: 20 PR3+ backlinks are better then 5000+ crappy backlinks. I used one of my websites as a testing platform for automatic/cheap linkbuilding technique's and over the last 9 months that the website is live I probably build around 4000-5000 links to it, if not more. You know how many links are indexed today according to yahoo site explorer? Don't get scared, only 57 links, and most of these 57 are PRn/a so they still contribute close to nothing.

Thats a 1% index rate thanks to the great SEOLinkRobot / MagicSubmitter / ArticleMarketingRobot. I haven't tested SENuke but I wouldn't expect any difference from that one. Btw 50% of these links that are indexed I placed manually at blogs and web2.0's.
Those services you mentioned are paid software, not free.

I haven't heard of AMR doing more harm than good. Why would Google deindex article directory links?

I've found the index rate with AMR to be low also, but a lot of people have had success with it so they obviously have a strategy in place that people who aren't getting success with it are not doing.

You're doing it all wrong. These paid software programs work, you just have to master them and know how to use them properly.

It must be trial version of the software but I doubt if there are any free software's in the market. You please name the software. It is better to avoid such software's as they aim to sell something else.

Yeah would be good if you'd mention the tool you're talking about. Is it really free or only some free crack for a paid one? Be aware of viruses that come with such tools and always scan it!

I think those type of software programs only create low quality links on whois type sites, so it's only good for getting your site indexed, it won't have an effect on improving your rankings.

Backlinks from free software are likely to be posted to link farm sites. Why risk the damage to your business site? The emphasis nowadays is on quality, not quantity. Try Google Plus pages (new), Facebook business pages or Squidoo Lens instead.

Most 'free' software, if its NOT a trial offer, is probably gonna build you Web 2.0 type links. These links are only valuable if you properly boost them with Tier 2 links. This proper boosting is key...

Link Building Software is really bad idea. May be it is free or paid. Because It is in automation and Google don't like Automation.

If you are SEO and you are looking best result for your domain or your client domain. I suggest you to do Manual work. NO Automation.

If you will attempt automation software. it will be against Google rules and it is reallly bad for your website. So please try to avoid using auto link building software
