I had a notice on YouTube this morning that said I can now add adsense to my videos. I'm unsure about adding it to existing videos though.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Log into Youtube & you'll see a small button below each video "Monetize". You can turn Adsense On/Off with the button (per individual video).

Make 100% sure that you own everything in the video, Audio + Video, otherwise don't turn on Adsense, they take this very serious.

      Found it Thank you.

Anyone have much success with YouTube? I'm doing a lot of music production related tutorials. Some are already getting decent hits but clicks on my bit.ly links in the description are not good.

I'd love to have those full ads that you can't skip. I bet Vemo are making an absolute fortune from those.

My brother has 200+ videos that are monetizing with Adsense, he is averaging about $1 per every 10 videos, per day. He has almost 800,000 views in about 4 months which is pretty good IMO considering the videos never went viral.

I also monetize with Youtube/Adsense, I just don't have enough time to go all out with it like my brother has.

We are still waiting to see what triggers the full screen Advertisements, not sure If it's total video view counts or what? I do know there are folks that have full video Ads with less videos than my brothers 200+ video count, so I know for sure it's not based on video count.

No doubt the full video Ads should have a higher CTR + CPC.

My brothers goal is only $20 per day from Youtube by the end of Dec 2011, he has already met that goal by 1.5 months early, which again is pretty good considering he doesn't own a website.

Out of interest what are the videos related to? I know "Native Instruments" are advertisers with YouTube. I constantly see their ads all over the place and much of my tutorials is based on the Native Instruments software.

At a guess I'm hoping they will perform a bit better than random ads on videos not related to the topic of the ad. If you get me.

When did your brother start by the way?

I never really looked at videos before, but I spend a huge amount of my time making music, so mix music with marketing and hey presto. Two birds with one stone.

If I could make £30 a day from videos I would be happy.

Finally, whats the total view count for his videos?

I love reading about others success especially when I'm in an area I am unfamiliar with.

He makes tutorial videos, I won't say what niche.

            He started around August 2011.

Total video views is almost 800K views, he will hit 1 million views around the first of the year (2012). The views are climbing very steady.

Of course I understand mate. I'd never give away my niches either.

I am so glad you said August 2011. I thought you was going to say 2009 for a moment. There's hope in YouTube then, lol.

In the distant future I'd probably look about getting a product done, like a huge bundle of tutorials that teaches in the in's and out's of particular software. With Youtube I can probably build a user base big enough to be able to launch that.

Creating a product is exactly what I tried telling my brother to do, he wants to hit 1,000 videos on Youtube before he even thinks about his own product. He does professional video editing offline (Lowes, Home Depot commercial type videos).

                Anyways...

My advice is pick a single niche/subject & stick with it on Youtube.

Adsense is all about traffic & Youtube has plenty of free traffic.

Also, it's good to see your doing the right thing creating 100% of the Audio/Video. I think Youtubes policy is 3 strikes & your out (banned channel). I'm not sure how a banned Youtube channel would impact the Adsense account, would it be banned or not (I don't want to find out)?

You can use an automation for mass video generation to reach that goal. There are too many niches where you can find keyword ideas to attack with good traffic and low competition.

For keyword research, i like Semrush.com (for quick ideas) and then generate long tail keywords with Scrapebox (which also analyzes competition).

Appreciate the input but this is something much different mate.

We're talking about uploading to YouTube and keeping things clean (at least that's my goal). Because the videos are being done by myself I want to keep the account legit and white listed.

The last thing I want is for YouTube to swipe my account and have to start the process over again.

I'm not sure I'd rely on a video though in terms of SEO. I'd rather have a website and rank that instead, and then add the video to that.

Wow, 1000 videos is quite a chunk of work to do... Even though you do need a good keyword research and plenty of videos to see some results on Youtube.

Yes, Yotube is pretty strict. So if you have many videos on one channel and it gets banned you lose a lot of work...

In terms of product - if you already have experience then you most likely have something to share. And most likely there are people who would like to know it. So of cause - go for it.

Plus, you can easily connect you Youtube and Adsense accounts. It is very convenient. If you do not have an Adsense account yet, you can create it via Youtube.
