I've seen most of the sites well ranked in google 1page having backlinks from pages sometimes having 1000-10000 comments(spammed to death).
It seems google doens't care about the no of comments?only PR matters?
Or should i stick with fresh blog comments?

Those are awful links. They are not why the pages you are looking at are ranking.

The power of the links a page provides gets divided among all the links on the page. With that many, those links are pretty much worthless.

Opinions vary, but I generally avoid pages with a ton of outbound links. (Though these can sometimes be gold if you take a look at the backlinks of the other people who have commented.)

I don't care as much if I'm doing a "blast" to my lower tier backlinks. But anything that I manually point to my site won't be on a post with a bunch of other comments.

yeah I have also noticed that thing but being fair on your own try not to do that...It is not only bcz of those comments they will be ranking...there are many other factors for them to rank and also it depends on there competition too..

Well, you probably haven't seen all of their quality backlinks. Most backlinks tools, dont show every single link a site has. They just shows a small selection.

Now, if you ask me, the fewer outgoing link a page has, the more benefit you get from a backlink from that page.

That said, its always good to have a mix of high quality and lower quality backlinks. Its more natural.
