5 Free tools to get you started with SEO

Hey Guys,

I noticed a lot of people in here asking a lot of the same questions so I thought I would try help out a little bit by sharing some of the tools I have found along the way.

Im not going to put URL's for now as I am just compiling a list, just google the names and you will find them straight away.

1. Google Keyword Tool - If you don't know about this, get to know it asap.

2. Traffic Travis Free - Amazing little software package you can download for free from their website to keep trafic of your websites SERP's etc. I actually like this version better than their PRO v4 version.

3. Spinner Chief - A Cool product that allows you to spin content for free. Its limited but for people wanting to try it out it is a very powerful tool. Its also handy when writing articles and want to quickly do a simple re write for an article network.

4. SEOMOZ Site Explorer - The free version shows you some handy info about your site, its backlinks and stuff like page authority. Nice and easy to use and navigate.

5. Social Marker - This tool gives you the ability to quickly Social bookmark your website to a HUGE amount of websites in one go. This is a great place to start for people learning how to utilise social bookmarks, and not have to spend any money. Make sure you keep your username and passwords for the sites handy and you will find you can smash through it super fast.

      Google keyword tool is a great free tool that everyone should use if they are into SEO. There are better paid products out there (I used to use Market Samurai until it went belly up), but as far as free tools go, Google's keyword tool is really good.

      Just remember to take the estimated number and divide by 2. That is roughly the amount of traffic a top spot in Google would get, more or less 50% of all traffic.
      A lot of folks forget this part and end up being let down when their traffic isn't what they thought it would be.

      I agree that seoquake, semrush, and keywordspy are quality useful tools. But I think that now no self respecting SEO actually uses Wordtracker. they now rely on 3rd party sites, their data is very limited. I think it's impossible to find any good keywords on there.
