Yahoo and MSN Where's The Love?

This is something I'm wondering about for my site, I get just about all my search engine site traffic from google only, I cannot seem to get any from Yahoo or MSN even though I know my site has been indexed, what gives?

I hope the new CUIL search engine doesn't ignore my site as well. (it has been indexed as well.)

    Hi Braver55b,

Yahoo and MSN use very different algorithms from Google. They tend to weigh on-page factors more heavily. I would start there.

Keyword density tends to have quite a big impact on the search engine ranking in Yahoo and MSN. It is important to remember that even if you were ranking somewhere. A listing on MSN or Yahoo is not going to generate anywhere near the same amount of traffic as the same listing on Google.

Everyone's optimizing for Google's algorithms, it's no wonder they don't rank as well in Yahoo! and MSN. Sure they don't have as much volume as Google, but it's still hundreds of millions of searches a month they're sending somewhere!

I also advertise on all three. Microsoft AdCenter produces the highest ROI for me, always has. Better conversions than AdWords even on the search network only.

Yahoo and msn are so different. I only get a few percentage of my visitors from msn/live and only the smallest chunk imaginable from yahoo. They are much different than google and less used too.

Well, heck here I am getting 90+ percent of my traffic from Yahoo on my first adsense site...

Imagine the traffic I would have if Google didn't hate me?

I'm averaging around $6 per day on yahoo alone with only half of my current pages indexed. Looking forward to the day google let's me in with the group.

            Go figure.
