Hey Warriors,

I am just starting out online, I have a plan to build a list in a certain niche and would like to use paid advertising to do it, I have a budget and I have taken time to understand the market and its needs and wants.

I understand about the Google slap and how it is difficult (although I havnt tried) to send traffic straight to an opt in page risking your account getting banned.

My question is this, does the slap apply to Yahoo, I mean I have looked around for what would be popular search phrases for several niches and do not see any ads pointing to squeeze pages (well one or two in different niches).

Is Yahho and Bing a worthwile platform to pursue? Or is it just that the paid traffic crowd are now mad for Facebook PPC? I quite like the idea of bidding on keywords instead of likes and this is why I would like to pursue search marketing.

Thanks for taking the time to post replies and helping the newkidontheblock

Bing/ Yahoo campaigns are usually a bit more profitable from my personal experience. Not as much traffic as Google but definitely worth doing.

Well first off, Yahoo no longer has a PPC platform, it's now consolidated with Bing/MSN Adcenter.

You can promote squeeze pages on Adcenter provided the keywords you choose are relevant to your landing page. Otherwise you'll get a low quality score (yes Bing has a quality score too) which results in your ads not showing up PERIOD.

First line is INcorrect. The guideline about this is found here, very first paragraph:

      advertising.microsoft.com/small-business/support-center/search-advertising/privacy-guidelines

Pretty much the same rule as Adwords said in a different way.

Bing powers Bing and Yahoo search, in my experience I have had some great experiense with Microsort in the past and out of all 3 main engines I always found it the best converting traffic.

The best advice I could give is test it

Use Yahoo and Bing pay-per-click! I used to think that there are a lot less traffic with Yahoo and Bing, however, if you add more keywords, you end up getting more traffic. Also, there is less competition compared to Google therefore the clicks cost lesser.
