Hey guys, I have a question.
Let's say I have a website about xbox360.
My domain name xbox360andgames.com
I want to rank for the keyword Xbox360. My homepage doesn't have xbox360 in the title OR meta description. Current position for the keyword: 77
Now, I also have inner page xbox360andgames.com/xbox360.html that DOES have Xbox360 in the title tag and description. Current position: 316.

In your opinion, which one should I rank? Should I just push the homepage (position 77), or start with the inner page (position 316)?
#rank

I've always found it way easier to rank home pages unless the inner page was a lot more specific to my home page.

    ex. main page- xbox.com
inner page - dvd remote for xbox

I think they issue they are having is with the content on the home page. If the content has nothing to do with Xbox then it would not be a very good page to send traffic to. The page should be tailored towards the traffic. I think once you hit the first page of the SERPs you would have a harder time on the home page compared to the content rich page.

Try to rank both if you can.. But regardless, I'd say push your home page. It's already closer and your inner page should follow up with your home page when it's getting pushed

I think you should focus first in the homepage. That is the easiest thing to do.
