Google dance with my competitor

Hello,

I have 3 month old micro niche site. I managed to rank this site in first page around 2 weeks. Then my site disappeared from Google and came back 1,5 months later. Now my site is dancing in google with my COMPETITOR SITE :O.

For example. We are both ranking good on first page for 2-3 days, then in the same time we both go 500+ and stay there for 4-5 days. After that we come back again (AT THE SAME TIME) and stay at first page for 2-3 days.

What should I need to do to make this site more stable? I know we have both new sites (competitor site is 7 months old, mine is 3months old), but we both dance so badly..

Any information would be great!

E: I update my site once in a week, by adding new 500 word article.

Hi there mandos123, it is a good thing that you update your site once in a
week. But this is not the only factor that affects your ranking. Some of
other necessary factors are traffic, backlinks, and exact keyword match
domains. You can search more facts on Google or in WSO.

I have EMD domain, I'm generating traffic from BING and YAHOO (70 visitors per day). I build backlinks constantly to niche related sites and so on.

Then the factors that affect your ranking are keyword selection and quality
of links. Your keyword is one of the most important factors in your SEO
campaign or article. You also need to look deeper into your competitor.
Compare the quality of backlinks, articles and other factors that your
competitor has but not you. You may have up to 4,000 links and your
competitors less than 500 but they could still rank above you. Why? Because
if they have good quality links that are relevant and come from trusted
resources that Google values more highly than any of your own links.
