Poorly targeted Adsense on inner posts

I have a site that has a post stickied to the home page. The Adsense ads within it are perfectly targeted.

Of course, Google has chosen to rank the post rather than the home page. The problem is, on the individual post page, the Adsense ads aren't nearly as targeted.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have done all of the usual -- section targeting, adding in more relevant keywords, etc. Nothing seems to be working. It wouldn't be a big deal if Google were ranking the home page, but it's not. (The home page is still indexed -- no problems with that.)

Thanks.

Keywords in <title> & <h1> tags will help.

Thanks! -- it was already in the title, but I added a <h1> tag (thought I had one, but it was <h2>).

I just realized that my homepage and post meta titles/descriptions are exactly the same... maybe that is why Google merged them? I'll change them and see if that helps.

Any other suggestions? I'm at a loss -- nothing seems to be working.
