How To On-page SEO This Website???

Hi warriors,

I have an offline client that sells wedding dresses and classy evening dresses.

The exact local search volume for "wedding dresses *TOWN*" and "evening dresses *TOWN*" is 350 each. (town=my town)

That means a #1 site could get at least 500 exact searchers!

The competition is weak. However, since my client's shop is called "Spossea", it's natural to assume he wants that in his url.

My question is... how do I on-page SEO this website if the url isn't "wedding dresses TOWN" or "evening dresses TOWN"?

Basically I want to rank #1 for that search terms but I don't really know how I can on-page optimize my site for those keywords :S

I know the URL factor is not the only factor, but the title, headings, etc... I think I can get around these though...

Can anyone help?

To rank #1 for that keyword will take much more than just on page SEO. In fact most of it will take off page seo to get the job done. You could get ranked for keywords that your site doesn't even use in the meta tags just by doing off page seo. My own company website is an example, ranking #3 for the keyphrase "where to find good backlinks", but if you look at my meta kewords, that keyphrase isn't even there. So you may need to look much more beyond on page seo.

Just make sure you don't do the exact term in your H1. If your term is blue widgets, don't just do
blue widgets
do
All About Blue Widgets
.

It'll help you from getting "hurt" from over-optimization.

On-page SEO can go a long way towards higher rankings if your competition is low. Do it first, before you start doing a lot of off-page link building.
