Pages/Articles/Posts?

OK, I am very new to this IM world...clearly.

I was following the "$100 a day challenge" and a few other thread and now I'm getting a little confused.

In that thread Steve said he needed 70+ articles in a few different categories.

So are these just posts in a blog?

Where to web pages fall into this?

Is he submitting these same articles/posts to EzineArticles & such?

Are posts better than pages?

I'm sorry if these sound really ignorant about this, but I clearly need some clarity.

Thanks in advance
  • These articles are posts. Posts are blogpages. A post is the content of a blogpage. He does not submit the same articles/posts to Ezines.

    Posts are blog entries.
Pages are articles on your site.
Some write articles to submit to other sites, for the back-links.

Hi, I think he meant he's writing articles and he's also creating posts (blogposts), you need to have a lot of content out there, and submit your url to everything to get a high pageranking.

That is what I was thinking, but as with anything new, got lost in the jargon.

Thanks I've been doing quite a bit of reading and clearly its tied to quality content to make money in this area.

Anyone have an opinion on the number of posts/pages you should have before you launch? Is it acceptable to build it up as it goes, starting at like 10 and just keep adding? Wouldn't Google see that as an active site and "play nice"?

Hi, I think you should make it live as soon as you have a few pages. It takes awhile to get indexed and the sooner you start submitting to directories, the sooner you can get ranked. You can always ping it later when you've updated sites.

Don't forget bookmarking is also very important. Bookmark your website and articles that lead back to your website to get important links.
