GWT Geographic Targeting Experiences?

I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with using the geographic targeting option in Google Webmaster Tools and the resulting effects, if any, on their search engine rankings in the targeted search engines?
I recently switched my geographic targeting for one of my sites (that gets close to 100% of its traffic from the US) and have not seen much of any difference in SERPs/traffic volume. It may be too early for the changes to take place...
