See this Flippa listing: flippa.com/2678067-must-sell-seo-backlink-building-website-3k-per-month-revenue

Maybe I'm missing something here, but this guy had a monthly income of $3000 from his site, but he only sold his site for $3000. Um, shouldn't it have sold for like $30,000? I'm confused...

The listing you're looking at sounds like one where a guy sets up a site to market a service and then you can make money providing that service to people. He is selling the site for $3000 because he does not want to provide link building services. What he is going to do is make another site just like the one that sold for $3K and sell it as well.

That guy doesn't want to provide services he wants to set up web sites that provide services and sell the websites.

I wouldn't buy a site like that because there are so many of them and if you wanted to get into providing services you could do so without spending $3K on a site. If the site comes with a list and repeat customers it might be worth it but the guy selling the site is in the site flipping busines not the service providing business.

Yep, this is the flavor of the day. There is a thread in the war room that explains the whole process.

Everyone and their brother is jumping on this now. Won't be profitable for long.

Hmmm, interesting, I'm not quite sure I understand this though. Was he lying about the income or something then?

Not only does all the above make it a bit shady, the fact that it has been sold 3 times previously, and he will not accept escrow, just adds to the level of "shadiness" in this listing.

Looks like someone actually pulled the trigger on it. Hope they didn't just get ripped off.

There really is so much crap on flippa, I don't know how people get away with it. Praying on newbie marketers,

I see so many listings with 330,000 monthly searches and I have the exact match domain. Then when you check it on keyword tool it's like 330 exact searches per month.

What also makes me laugh is the service selling sites, they get a few sales in to show the websites making a bit of money for like 10 days then it's worth 3000 dollars.. Then you see there is 20 sites exactly the same.
