You build a website and added all its content. Do you start link building, press releases etc. I for some reason always send out press releases and do social bookmarking. What about you guys and gals?

    I find 3-4 relevant forums to the sites niche that allows members to publish blog posts. I will then post 1 blog post per forum with a link back to my website within the article.

    Then I put a link to the blog post in my signature on the forum and post about 10-20 replies to various threads.

    Then I build backlinks to the blog posts on each of the forums with UAW and social bookmarks.

    This builds a great foundation of relevant backlinks to your new website.

    Yea, its good to do Press release submission if you have something to announce...

    Apart from this PR has no other benefit.

    After creating a website, my first is Social Media Optimization and link building... I practice both these techniques simultaneously.

      Get all the pages indexed via social bookmarking then start on link building but not in a massive way, just some to start with gradually building up the numbers and frequency as to appear more natural.

    First the site has to be indexed after completing it. Bookmark the sites in familiar bookmarking sites like reddit, digg and so on. Then I use to build links from sites which are relevant to my site's theme. Links from relevant sites will be valued by Google and most of the search engines.

    I submit my main url along with anchor text to an unsainly amount of indexing sites (whois,aboutus...) and multi ping each page/backlink...

    Then I add the url and anchor text to my network of article blogs. This will be a continuous drip feed of back links.

    Depending on the type of site, I may or may not submit url / link to edu/gov sites.
    Side note: They may or may not be a difference in how google views edu,gov, and com's but this seems to work for me so I will continue to do this.
