Just like the majority I always SEO for google but I see one of my site is ranking #1 on bing for a key word and giving more traffic than google.

Now I am thinking that bing (and yahoo) is also a worth target if we can get #1 and it does not seem to be a difficult task compared to raking on google.

Is there anyone who have concentrated on ranking on bing? (and yahoo too) Interested to hear your experiences.
#bing #traffic

I'm sorry but that is a ridiculous statement. SEO = Search Engine Optimization. If your keyword research is based on Bing or Yahoo then Google has no relevance.

SEO does not automatically refer to Google eliza.

          It should ahahaha.

Anyhow, I question Bing's algorithm and the quality of its search results. Doing SEO to rank on Bing sounds like an alright idea however I believe there will be a huge algorithm change on Bing soon to improve the quality of their searches. So your efforts could be ruined.

LOL! You are relating search engine ranking to alexa ranking?

I've been checking out my stats from Bing and Google and I think Bing gives a much higher weight to EMDs and much less to domain age. One new site I have (an EMD) is 3rd in Bing and 105th in Google.

I have a few sites which have ranked 1st position in bing when i have actually been aiming for google. The one thing i do notice is that the volume is a lot lower than from google.

I have focused on Google for ranking, but I never can seem to figure out a pattern for Bing on how they rank sites. Theoretically it should all be similar, but I have had sites that rank in the top three positions in Google and are nowhere to be found in Bing. I know it takes much longer for Bing to recognize newer sites.

Definitely Bing and yahoo generates good amount of traffic. I was ranking for certain keyword in Google on page first but suddenly all ranking disappear. Right now i am getting more traffic from yahoo and Bing as compare to Google.

I have a site that ranks better on both Bing & Yahoo than on Google but the amount of traffic is still negligible. Like 10% of the traffic Google brings in.

As such, there are no different techniques for bing optimization or any other search engine optimization. If your website is well optimized and does not employing any unethical technique, you can rank well in other search engines as well.

All you need to do is keep yourself update with upcoming trends and frequent algorithm changes. And, as far as traffic is concerned, each and every source matters.. whether its search engine or social media website.

What do you mean by 'unethical technique'? Example?

    Hi Faceblogger

It's always worth looking how many searches your keyword gets in bing. I have found that for some niches you can actually get more traffic through bing.

I used to target just bing and Yahoo in my early days of internet marketing because it was generally a lot easyier and faster to do.

You need to add up the keywords and searches and see what the difference is between the two. I personally find that it's hard to rank high on all 3 as bing uses a slightly different ranking system as compared to Google.

Yes bing is using different algorithm and it's easy to get rank there as their algorithm is yet to get more matured to fight against link building.

Still profile links boost rank on bing but not on google.

Doesn't look like there's a straight answer to any of this. But I'd imagine that it would be so much more effective ranking up on google than on Bing. People resort to google much more than bing.

It's definitely a recommended strategy to consider optimizing websites for Bing as well because Yahoo plus MSN are two popular portals which are still getting accessed by millions of people and potential customers on a daily basis. Although Google might send more visitors than those two engines in most cases and in plenty of niches, but as you have experienced, trying to improve rankings of websites on Bing too can definitely help websites having better traffic shares.

A lot of shopping portals which are at the top of Bing generate lots of sales everyday and their profit shares too could be very great. It is recommended to improve organic ranks of websites on Google, Yahoo and Bing because even reaching the first spot on Google but missing high positions on the other two would be equal to losing traffic on a daily basis. Major sites which are accessed by international communities can definitely help having more visitors and Bing is one of them.
