Hello Warriors,

Is it necessary to add the cities zip code of the area you are targeting in the meta keyword seo section of the web site?

For example lets say one of your key words phrases are "Los Angeles Printing". Should you be entering in the meta keyword section "Printing 91103"(Los Angeles zip) as well?

Do search engines recognize a cities zip in the meta keyword section of a site and if so will adding it result in a hit on that site ?

Thank you,

Rich

I wouldn't bother entering it unless your keyword research has shown that people are searching for it by zip code - which is unlikely.

It's a complete waste of time. Meta keywords are not used for anything
      anymore.

I keep looking at the calendar and it still says 2012. Just
      to be sure....

I have used post codes and telephone area codes in several projects especially where people use these things in their searches. Google attempts to assign geographical relevance to certain types of pages, and these are some of the signals they might use.
