Anyone using 1and1 for domains? If so, is it even possible to transfer a domain over to another registar? I have a site I would like to flip and im starting to think 1and1 doesnt want to let me transfer.

I've used them before and I don't like them at all. As far as domain transfers I'm not entirely sure but I'd get away as quickly as you can if they let you. I use NameCheap and love them, you might want to take a look.

Agreed with above.. namecheap much better than 1and1 in my honest opinion. Way smoother for domain transferring.

I had a horrendous experience during the middle of last year with 1&1. I found them an absolutely appalling company and I am surprised they haven't been sued to bankruptcy.

The first thing you need to do is keep a precise and detailed record of every email/call/chat with them, keep names/times etc. This won't actually make any difference to their attitude because they appear to work to a script which equates to 'screw the customer' ... I'm being as polite as I can be here

I'd transfer to Namecheap as soon as you can and escape the clutches of 1&1.

You have my sympathy, but rest assured you're not alone.
