I've had a domain with a website for about year and a half. Name of the company has changed so I'll buy a new domain. Should I do a 301 redirect of the old domain or should I keep it and add a link to my new one to boost my new one?
#domain #forward #link

I Would probably use a 301 redirect, however returning visitors may be confused or put off by being transffered to an unkown page. Or they may not realise you have changed your name

    Thanks,

Then you would just set up a one page website telling the people that the company has been renamed and put the link below the headline to redirect them. It think it depends if you want to let the visitors know that the company is with different name.

I would either use a 301 redirect or set up one page website with a link to your new website.

yes.. it is better for using 301 redirect for at least another year and then you can throw that domain or sell that.. that is what i think..

I would use the 301 redirect. You won't get much juice out of using it for a link.

I was debating whether to use the old domain to put SEO-ed content there and then have a link to the new one.

I would do a 301 redirect if you would like to retain backlinks and plan on keeping the content the same. Otherwise I would set up a blog on the old domain, have a writer work on some content and build a little blog which will have backlinks to your new site. Of course use different hosting and registration info for maximum effect in this case.

I think as all others are saying, the 301 redirect would work for you. However, I am in favour of zoomsixx idea for blog building to influence the users effectively.
