I am in idea of redirecting non www version of my home page URL to www version. Will this affect my ranking in SERP?

    It will not effect the ranking of keywords on search engine. 301 redirect is recommanded by search engine and only helps in redirecting the traffic from one domain to another domain. Secondly in your case it will help in understand that domain with www and with out www are same. This helps the search engine in understanding the domains are same...

    no it will not effect your ranking in anyway, 301 is search engine friendly redirection and through this you can get better result.
