noob question about with or without "www."

Hey guys,

lets say all my backlinks were built to "domain.com" but my actual domain uses "www.domain.com" and I put a redirect (so that traffic from domain.com goes to www.domain.com), will i keep the PR juice from domain.com? or will Google simply not count it towards my domain? I heard google considers them differently so i wasn't sure if putting the redirect will solve my backlink problem

(I honestly don't remember if i used www.domain.com or domain.com for a lot of the links i built lol)

any advice is appreciated!

The PR juice of domain.com and www.domain.com is always the same.

However, it is always better to use one or the other, not both.

If you put a 302 (temporary) redirect, I think the PR would not be passed. If you make it a 301 (permanent) redirect, then the PR will get passed, no problem.

    should be no problem.

there is a slight degradation of link juice in every 301 encountered

also, it would be good practice to use a canonical tag

Yes, it is better to use one URL and keep the same, because a 301 lose some juice.
