I've managed to build a couple of amazon review sites, how long do you guys wait before building "social proof" or so called back links.

Is there a time-frame that is good to wait, or does it not matter?

Straight away but gradual and differing sources tomake it look more natural

I normally wait until my site has been indexed before building links.

As Patricia said, build them gradually I.E. 15 to 20 links per day, if it's a new domain and make sure to use a variety of links with high and low PR and
      a mixture of DF/NF.

Wow, 15-20 links a day? I thought that 5 was too much, but I'm guessing that you have to be consistent for it to have a effect, right?

    Build them straight from start.
Do not build 1000s of backlinks straight from start, that's not natural.

How long before you see any traffic coming in?

My pages get a couple of long tail keywords in the first 2 months and then after the 3rd month I see some basic searches for the keywords I optimized towards, what is your experience? I'm a little afraid of being to aggresive.

You have to start now with high quality backlinks only. About 8-15 of PR4 backlinks and above daily should be effective.

Where do you find those links? are you talking about pr4 page or domain? I can build a couple of pr4 page back links but more pr4 domain that have pages which haven't got the juice yet.

Where do you build your links? blogpost, articles, guest-blogging?

I started my amazon affiliate site about 10 days ago. It was indexed one day after it went live. I signed up for the Matt LaClear 3 month link drip service and now my site is on page one for a few keywords, including for its main keyword. I have an EMD if that helps. It is too early to say if rankings will stick, but if I was you, I would risk it with one site and see how it goes. IF you decide to order his service, I would advice you to remove Google Analytics and install Stat Counter or similar just in case.

What benefit do you achieve by removing google analytics and going with something like stat counter using Matt's service?

You can build backlinks at a steady pace from day one. You can ramp up the intensity a little more as months progress. You can buy link packages from vendors to take away the stress of building or manually do them to ensure relevancy.

Yes, don't make over linked in a day. you have to post daily in consistent manner. I think 5-7 will be good per day.
Go backlinksindexer if you want any help in back linking.

Like everyone above has stated, there is no reason you should not start building links right away... but you need to make it appear natural.

A lot of people run an automated tool right away creating thousands of backlinks to their website within days of it being live. Google and other search engines are obviously going to realize that something is not at all right, and you will get penalized severely.

As long as you are smart and reasonable about it , you can go ahead and create a handful of backlinks at a gradual pace to benefit from higher positions on search engines.

First site ever, I started building links the same day I posted content on my site, which was also the same day I got the domain; at the time I had no money to pay for backlinks, and that site slowly but sure kept climbing up in google. I was building 10-15 links a day since manual link building is a pain in the butt. So as long as you're not building spammy links or way too many links, you can start the process right away.

You can start building backlinks right away but the more aggressive you are - the more risk. I've seen some guys get away with build a bunch at once but I feel the risk isn't worth it. Best to build them up over time. In this case, slow and steady wins the race.

Well first thing you should do is submit your sitemap to Google and Yahoo (atleast) to get your site crawled.

Then you want to wait till your site gets indexed. Just do a search in Google for:

      site:YourDomain.com

then once you're indexed you should start building links.

Whats all this nonsense about building a handful of links a day?

When I launch a site, Im pushing thousands of backlinks at it IMMEDIATELY.

If you're not, then you're wasting time.

Oh, and before anyone suggests Im pushing useless automated software blasts, Im not. Its all white hat ethical SEO.

How is that nonsense? Oh so the ONLY way to get fast search engine rankings is to start submitting 1000's of links right off the bat?

Trust me that's not the only way and I'll show you proof if you look on my WSO(link in sig) how fast I can rank without 1000's of links a day or whatever you do.

Also, I would rather build small amounts of quality links in a way that Google appreciates and will rank your high for, than keep pushing 1000's of links per day or week or however you're doing it.

I usually wait until I have 10 to 15 pages of solid content or the site is more than 1 month old...whichever comes first.

I seem to have luck with this approach.

Google is smart enough to know that a brand new site won't attract natural backlinks on its own, hence the reason why I don't create backlinks right out of the gate.

    Cheers

    Phil

    Hi,
4 months back i was starting SEO for my web site. it's was coming good PR. and i was getting a lot of back links. i was starting with directory submission and social book marking, it is good way to start make your back links building. But if you have used duplicate content that all are bad effects on your web site. with this you can not build your back links or end of the day you will be getting loss your web site or your on line business.

    1. Wait until it get indexed
    2. Build some quality optimized content first, 2-3 pages/contents is enough

there is no restriction in how much you build backlinks per day. but remain neutral in building your backlinks.

I start building straight away, and a ton of them - then over time I increase it even more. Never got penalized for too much link building or anything, but it can happen if you don't know what you are doing.
