Exact Match Domain Need Advice

I just purchased at an auction an Exact Match Domain.
When I used google keyword tool, it comes up with 450,000 global exact monthly searches and 33,100 monthly exact searches, CPC of $.77 with Low competition.

Yes, these are Exact matches. So 33,100 type in my domain as exact keywords each month if I understand exact matches correctly.

How would you recommend I fully monetize this domain? It is not really a product type name, so I wouldn't really have it point to one product necessarily. I could write a few articles about the domain name and then have links to a money site, or build a list or?

What would you do with this seemingly valuable domain.

Thanks in advance!

Don't complicate things. Very few traffic comes from domains that have the keyword and the searcher directly types in the domain name in the browser. If you have a plan to optimize the domain name just for the purpose of the visitor landing on your main website then you might as well just focus on optimizing your main website by building backlinks and promoting it on forums.

Just make sure that your domain name:

    1. describes what your website is about in a nutshell. Example: if your website is about building muscle, musclebuildingguide.com, musclebuildingfacts.com

    2. has a .com tld. The domain registrars give you a choice of .com, .net, .irg, etc. but .com is still the best

    3. is not too long

    4. is easy to remember

    All the best!

Even though many people say this, I found no difference at all between .com, .net, .info etc.

In my experience, when i try to rank a domain, i get results whatever tld the domain has.

In my opinion, as long as there's a proper SEO done, you could rank just ANY tld the same way.

.info, .biz etc look just a bit spammy maybe and a .com is easier to resell but, apart from this, i have never found a difference doing my tests.

      Just my opinion anyway,

Right, you are saying it gets 450k global monthly and 33.1k monthly searches, so am I assuming you are only targetting the region that the 33.1k searches are from?

Next competition being Low is a bad thing if you are looking to monetize through Adsense. This means that there are not many advertisers placing ads on this niche.

First thing you should do is check the allintitle and allinurl for your EMD keyword and see what your competition is. Having an EMD that has 350k global searches is useless if there are over 500k competing pages.

Do that first then you will see your competition. Then come back and let us know.

There's really no way anyone can give you a meaningful opinion. We know nothing about the site, niche, commercial intent, competition, etc.

Have you analyzed the top 10 results for that search term? Can you even compete in that space or is it full of PR8s with 2mil backlinks to each page?

Monetization of website certainly depends on the type of keyword and niche. As you said the keyword is not a product keyword hence I would not recommend you to go with Amazon or any other e-commerce affiliates.

However if you can always use adsense for a constant income. Besides adsense you can also try some email or zip submit type CPA offers (CPA offer should be relevant to your niche or keyword). I would recommend you to check Peerfly.

If you think keyword is quite desperate :p you can try content blockers like CPALead.

It all depends the type of keyword and niche. Play with these networks and sort out the most profitable among them.

If it's not a product domain, you'll likely have to go with an informational site with ads. Low ad competition is always something to be wary of - it can indicate traffic that may only be looking for one piece of information, after which they go someplace else. Not every search term with high search is lucrative.
