Is there a Keyword Density Plugin for Microsoft Word?

The title sort of says it all: Is there a Keyword Density Plugin for Microsoft Word? I optimize a lot of articles in Microsoft Word, and it would save me significant time to not have to copy/past the article into a Keyword Analysis online. Yes, I know that I can use Microsoft Word's "Find" tool and "Word Count" tools, and then just divide. But seriously, I know if it's only a few seconds difference, I want something easier. For the amount of articles I'm checking and optimizing, it really will save me some time and effort. I want to be able to plug in a keyword or keyword phrase into Microsoft word, and it just spits out the density percentage for that keyword/phrase. This doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to make, so I figure SOMEONE out there has something similar to what I'm talking about.

Any ideas?

Control + F enter your phrase, divide by the total number of words.

  • There is no plugin in Microsoft word to find the keyword density, need to follow manually as Packerfan suggested.

    Hi Brennan
I've been looking for the same thing myself. The only solution I've found so far is Angus MacDonald’s free Word Frequency Counter for Word 2007 and 2010.

Angus says, "I created this add-in to count the occurrences of each word in a given Word 2007/2010 document and then either display the result within Word, or save it to a CSV file. Both the executable and the source (C#) are available."

You can get Angus MacDonald’s free Word Frequency Counter from his site: Sorry, the system will not let me post a link, so, do a Google search for, "Angus MacDonald’s free Word Frequency Counter" and you'll find the link.

    Hope this helps.
