Could someone tell me why

This site - fuelcards(dot)co(dot)uk completely kills fuelcards(dot)com for the search term 'fuel cards' in Google SERPs.
The latter is mine and it is in position 11, the other is a competitors site and is in position 1.
A quick look at the backlink profile of each would suggest that mine should be streets ahead. The on site SEO is also better on my site.
Any help would be so gratefully appreciated..
