I have a keyword that Google Webmaster tools says it's average position is 26, and I have multiple SERP checkers that show it in the top 3 pages but when I go to search on google for it, it's nowhere to be found.

I've check the videos and images and nothing is there.

Has anyone else ever had this occur?

It's very strange.

Thanks

I'm not sure what you're talking about, maybe it's because I don't use Google Webmaster. What do you mean by a keyword having an average "position" of 26?

Check on the fourth page - those things seem like they are always off.

    1) Google Webmaster Tools is the slowest SERP tool on the net. By the time GWT displays your ranking per keyword, a lot of times the SERPs have updated & GWT data is outdated.

    2) The default GWT keyword page includes everything from all Google SERPs (Text, Images, etc...), use the filter at the top of the GWT page to filter out individual SERPs (Text, Images, etc...).

Well, if GWT says your page is in position 26 for that keyword and other rank checkers say you are in page 3, that is consistent.

If your page is not there when you look for it in Google, maybe you are being redirected to a different Google locale.

For instance, I live in Spain, so even though I have pages ranking #1 for several keywords in Google.com, when I google the term in the default google page, they are nowhere to be seen because it takes me to google.es, which oddly enough seems to favor pages in Spanish

You can go to google.com/ncr (it stands for No Country Redirect) and see if your page is where it should be.

If that doesn't work, you can install a browser extension/add-on/plugin/whatever called Google Global that allows you to search in different Google locales, and see where you lost your page. It has to be somewhere, there are really no ghosts!
