Quick question about the new GA: is it necessary to add the new page code in order for the new GA code to work correctly?

For one of my clients I am not seeing any data come through. Been working with this company for quite some time and still have data in the old GA account. I have connected the Webmaster Tools account to the GA account, but other than that I have no idea why there is no data!

Help!

No, my new GA data works fine and I haven't changed the code on any sites at all. Only done the link with GWT.
