Does Google G+ Likes Boost Your SERPs?

I've seen some of my competitors with 1,623 G+ likes and yes, they have higher serps than me. Anyone have any first hand experience with the Google like buttons increasing their rankings?

Well — soon enough I'll be able to answer this question. I've gone up from G+ of about 2 likes to around 25 public likes in a few days. So next update we'll have a partial verdict, at least for determining a "contributing factor" — likely not a casual force, due to other seo methods Im using for the same page.

I have found extremely minimal results. It helps a little bit but not nearly as much as getting strong backlinks. It definitely doesn't hurt though.
