Hello everybody!
Someone ask me around 20$ for 700-800 words article.
Can someone tell me what is the right price for a 700-800 words article? Can recommend me some good sites to find a good copywriter?
Thank you!

It depends on the level of a copywriter. I've tried copywriter that charge $40 for a 1,000 words copy and I've also tried high-level copywriter that charge $100 for a 600 words copy. They're obviously different and high-level copywriter always give great results in my experience.

I found this copywriters at oDesk. The average copywriter is from Philippines and the high-level copywriter is from US. Try browsing oDesk, create a job posting and it will give you a list of freelance copywriters. Invite them to your job posting and do an interview.

You mean that high level copywriter that charge 100$ for 600 words is from USA? Should I choose a native English speaking person from USA over someone from Philippines for example?
      Thanks!

      Yea exactly.
The copy is only as good as it sells, so it's pretty tough to gauge.
If you pay $40 but only make $20 worth of sales, then you're out of pocket.

If you pay $500, but make $4,000 worth of sales things would look a lot better. I would ask for testimonials and see what kind of work they have done in the past.

Is it full-time? If you are outsourcing in the Philippines, the pay is between 150-200 USD per month I think. It really depends on the load of work.

Spartan78, you need to look for a writer.... you don't need a copywriter for writing articles.

Take a look in my sig.... it will save you a lot of money.

The guy who asked me 20$ for 700-800 words article is from Philippine. I think is kind of expensive to pay this amount for a non native english speaker that's why i ask for your opinion guys.

The rate on how much a copywriter charges, depends on the length of the work. The best way is to go over websites that provides a list of applicants. You will see how much are they charging and their qualifications too.

As Opiel pointed out, there's a difference between a writer and a copywriter. The writer is like a journalist and write about something, tell the story. A copywriter on the other hand is supposed to use words to sell. If my product converts at 2%, I would gladly pay $1,000 to a copywriter that increases that to 5% because it means he's done his job and made me that money many times over. Some charge even more because they know how good they are. You may find someone in the Philippines who is just as good but if he knows it, he's not likely to charge $20.

    I'll pay $1 per 100 words. I think that's fair.
