"How to" in domain

"How To" in the domain might help in search engines but it will make it a less trustable site. I would personally go with the shorter domain name. But that's just me.

Yes having how to in domain will help but not much. Depending on the market it could be a difference in 2-3 pr3 backlinks. Meaning a domain witout how to in it could get the same ranking with couple of more high pr links. But again this is depending on the market. In high competition markets you def want to have the whole keyword in the domain.

A domain name including the words "how to" seems to be more appropriate for a limited site. Or so I thought. I did a search of the phrase "how to" (in quotes) in the trusty big G search engine and found "how to" as part of the main domain name some 15 sites out of the top 50. Some of them are large sites.

Make the domain name fit what you need it to fit. If you want the keyword in it, go with that. To answer your question, all other things being equal, I would go with "howtoboilanegg.com" since it has both THAT keyword and the former "boilanegg" keyword.

You can make a quick research on google keywords tool to check which do have higher monthly search.
For me , i will go with boilanegg because it will appear in search result as well even he type howtoboilanegg to search tool.

It depend how niche you want for your market and how many traffic you expect from the keyword.

Good question this. I have two 'howto' domains. Both hit page 1 of Google very quickly...but then very quickly disappeared never to return. I've tried propping them up with new original articles and backlinks but with little or no success.

I won't be buying howto domains again so be cautious.

I vote for "how to" domains. I have one and absolutely love it, ranks number one for its keyword. Uv visits a day is anywhere between 1000 and 1300. Strictly an adsense site and earns very well.

Just shows what a fine line we walk. My 'howto's are several words long so maybe this has an negative impact. Not sure.

My are also several words long, seven to be exact and 18 letters long, all together. I agree it is a fine line....

I do have one other "How" domain, it has just been aging in the serps for almost a year, sits back on page eight with only two articles as of now (tend to forget about it.) It will be one of my summer projects, if I can get it to move up before the domain expires, I'll re-up it for another year.
