I dont know if there is a better way to do this. I know a little bit of coding so I was able to edit my current theme to include an "welcome" statement. Since this is a static statement on my front page I thought I would help me in ranking for my keywords.

take a peek and let me know if there is something better I could be doing.

its my fantasy sports blog.

Just change your meta description and meta keywords, and or subtitle and title, google picks up on all that.

I noticed you do not have links within the content of your posts. SEO Smart Links is a plugin for WordPress that could automate it. Basically you could link to your main page from a keyword within each post, that would help you rank better.

I would suggest trying to link to multiple pages since you can make around 2-3 links per page however I wouldn't link the same keyword more than once on a post and I would not use the same URL for 2 links on 1 page.
