There is better way to bring traffic than forum posting, but you're right. It does bring in traffic and if you pick the right forum, it will be high quality and targeted traffic. Something you want to keep in mind though is that spamming the crap out of a forum to put your sig everywhere isn't gonna cut it, but if you make great post and provide value, than yeh your signature is probably gonna be an effective way to bring in traffic!

It's not as simple as just joining a forum in your niche and making a single thread to your website (which they will think is spam). To be effective, you need to join a target forum, contribute to the discussions and have the link to your site in your signature. As you build up your posts and reputation, more people will see your signature.

Forum posting have their own benefit but don't aspect instant result. If you think the signature link is going to to give you thousands of users then forget that. It will help you to generate instant backlinks. Some of the readers also use signature link for visiting your website. You will see the changes is happening in ranking while doing the forum posting.

Well... This question is a little bit confusing, buit the answer is easy...

The forum should be RELEVANT, you should ONLY put your links in the signature and try to add at least something new or interesting to this forum (not only creating a thread and try to "SPAM" the forum...

That's not true. The WF has high authority, ranks for tons of stuff, and
people put all types of sig links in here.

If you leave out the relevant part, the rest of the answer makes sense.
Spamming forums, especially profile links, is crazy, outdated, and devalued.

Sig links are golden, especially in forums with high PR and authority.
No matter what the niche. The WF is double golden.

Forum submission is very effective way to reach target community. It is not only link building method. It is main aim is communicate with people and solve any type of query. You can get all answer by forum discussion. You will get high page rank backlinks on your website. You must use edit signature to put link.

Forum posting gives good traffic when we place signature only on the niche related forums.Creating thread like reviewing the website according to the rules of the forums will help us to get the traffic to the website directly.where as using signature gives lots of backlinks and helps in achieving to the top of google.

Here is the road map for forum marketing:
1. Find out niche specific forum.
2. Register and say hi hello
3. Establish your self as an expert in your niche by answering and helping other people.
4. Put your link in your signature
This marketing is very effective if done well. You can even generate sell at CB/Amazon with this marketing style.

It depends I think. If someone wants to see what is your signature , he/she may click it. if he doesn't interested in, I don't think forum submission can get more traffic.

I think the content is important and that too from niche forums. But your signatures are indexed by google but it doesn't mean..it will be shown in serp.

Try in google - site: <domain name> keyword and you will see results from google..and this means your signatures are indexed.

Hi Vijay,

You must never think of forums with that intention. Forums are meet boards to share and gain knowledge. When there is a question on a topic you are good in, go ahead and answer it. When there is a useful resource you know, go ahead and share it. If people really need to get some information or want to buy it, they will definitely visit the website link you provided.

Moreover getting millions of visitors who doesn't convert is waste of time, isn't it?

Getting involved in forum discussions is one of the smartest things I ever did. Forum posting gives you good backlinks plus traffic. You don't have to be a reputable member to get clicks either on a forum.

As long as your sig link is enticing enough, people will come.
