My Free Mini Network

I registered a new blogger address and I quickly found that it was already a PR 2 and it had a **** load of links pointing to it.
I didn't even realize these type of domains even became available again after people stop using them but it seems they do. I started doing some digging on where all of these backlinks where coming from and I quickly saw that most of them were coming from 1 random domain with a lot of pages. This domain is somewhat of an authority in its niche with a lot of content on there so it wasn't just built as a link farm.
On closer inspection all of these links were sidebar links along with a big list of other links going back to similar blogspot, blogger and wordpress type sites. This is when I started clicking and also finding quite a lot more abandoned blog domains ready for me to snatch up. So that is what I did. Some of them were still not available as I guess there must be a waiting period between the user not using them and them coming available again but I got a nice amount that were just sat there waiting for me.
I went further into this with the others that I registered and I also found similar things and available domains.
Since finding this I have been trying to find out if there is anyway to discover these abandoned domains by searching various search strings in Google. So far I have had no luck but it would be great to know if anyone has any other ideas on finding these types of expired web 2.0's.
