So here's the deal :

I am a salesman and a web designer. I haven't got experience in ranking websites in Google.

If I can find an outsourcer for local websites, and get *some* guarantee's like 'first page of Google in a month', THEN I can sell it like crazy.

1. What is the best method for outsourcing Local SEO?

2. Anyone here have experience with Local SEO and difficulties/issues with it?

3. How long would it take for Google page 1 realistically in a town of 150k?

Always go to a reputed company while you are thinking about hiring seo professionals as they will perform some legal activities to rank your website well in SERPs. On the other hand, local seos will give you guarantee of get no. 1 rank in just one or two months but they can perform some illegal tasks to rank your website soon. This will give you instant benefit but later it can harm your website.
So think again as your website plays an important role in your business.

If you don't know much about ranking sites, you better be a good salesperson! I believe anything can be outsourced and there are plenty of people offering local SEO services. I personally know a person myself. Getting a website to first page of Google means nothing if you can't bring in any sales. I believe this has been said time and time again; business owners don't care about SEO reports or rankings etc, they only care about ROI.

Local SEO Won't work because the key phrase search volume within town which has only 150K peoples then might be less traffic on your web site. So try to be global SEO for your web site which can be derived global traffic on your web site.

Apart from this, SEO is long term base investment, so if you are planning for the same then only move with SEO.

Right, SEO is a long term investment, you need to update it each day, local seo will not help much to your site. It's better to do it global.

Yes of course you can outsource local SEO, but you need to learn about it first before you outsource it so you know what to expect and what work needs to be done. I am familiar with local SEO so if you have any questions feel free to PM me

But can you actually global with mom and pop brick and mortar businesses? And yes johnasthlon makes a good point. Some local businesses might not be able to make enough sales from the internet to actually cover/justify their SEO campaign expenditure.

Its a matter of indivisual commitment, if you find some SEOs who are very honest and very talented and they can provide effective service in less price. On the other hand, you may also deal with some SEO firms, companies that are high profile service providers but the result is not good.

My advice is spend less at first and judge their quality and check if they are able to meet what they say.

    1. It is very difficult for anyone (unless they have automated all the processes) to tell you some fixed price for holistic SEO. Therefore, you will have to ask for quote on a project basis. The best way to outsource it is by simply providing all the information to the SEO company and you to handle the communication between all the sides.

    2. Difficulties - time-taking due to the time it takes for Google Places information to be reindexed (6-8 weeks up to a few days ago); unpredictable, you might get suspended or anyhow penalized at any time without any obvious reason.

    3. It doesn't depend so much on the town, rather than the competition. There are very small towns with very serious competition (for instance in California). However, to reach page one in a mid-competitive niche it generally takes about 6-10 weeks if you are working white hat and if you start from scratch, i.e. if the site is already built, but has no content, etc.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,

No worthwhile SEO that knows what they are doing is going to provide you with that kind of a guarantee. If you find someone that does, you should stay as far away from them as you can.

Also, getting to the first page is useless. Almost all of the traffic goes to the top 3 results. In local searches, with much lower search volume than your common internet marketing campaign, it is even more important to be in the top 3, preferably #1.

If you do not know what you are talking about, it is better that you just do not answer the question. Local SEO is completely different than internet marketing. Trying to rank a local pizza shop in Florida globally for any keywords is absolutely stupid. People searching for a pizza restaurant in California are not going to call them.

It's called Local SEO because the idea is to go after the LOCAL traffic.

LOL. Sites do not get penalized for no reason. There is always a reason.
