Lost SERP because of blacklisted word

As the title says, one of my sites that was averaging about 130 visitors a day lost its page 1 serp (now ranked about 90th for the main keyword). I had approved a comment that contained a blacklisted word a few days ago, so I'm pretty sure that this is the problem.

I have deleted the comment now but will the site be able to regain the previous ranking?

Your site can gain back its SERP if you keep on doing what Google loves. This is why you must always approve a comment before it goes live on your website.
