Website demoted massively in Google

I've got a website which was ranking on the first page of Google for many keywords, then in December I received a message saying:

"Google Webmaster Tools notice of detected unnatural links"

Ever since, my rankings are now in the 200s.

In regards to link building before anyone asks, I mainly created links via articles at places such as BMR, ALN and used various popular offers here at the forum. There were a few blog commenting links as well.

Can anyone please guide me as to what I can do to get back to my previous rankings?

    One: delete all code used by Google to track/kick your site
    Two: do it all over again using different methods

    Not much more you can do right now, honestly. I know this is NOT the answer you want to hear, but it's the truth.

      Even if you delete all codes and remove sites from Google Analytic or Google Webmaster will Google still have all date about your site to tracking you down or no ? as already we providing them date as soon as we open account an add are sites...

    Like I mentioned on another thread, that's happening to an increasing number of people. Several of the people I am acquainted with who have had that happen have been using BMR and other spammy networks (Im kinda like... what did you expect at this point...) but there are those who have been penalized for guest posts with anchored links. Ask the search "quality" team for details/try and remove some of the worst offenders and submit a re-inclusion request. You'll probably get a message like

    "To illustrate how these articles could apply to you, here are examples of pages that contain inorganic links to your site:"

    The share those examples with the rest of us. It will be of great help, as we're trying to really figure out this stuff ATM. It's a bit of a biggie.

    What is wrong in this equation? Now a competitor can harm YOUR rankings - just sign up for a dozen networks, spam the hell out of your competitor and done.

    You gotta love Google.

    Wow so (forgive me if I'm completely wrong as I haven't been keeping up with the latest news from Google) the new Google update that says it will begin to disregard certain types of links were referring to paid blog networks like BMR?

      Yup, senhor Veloso, that is correct. Although, for a well established site with lots of high quality links and authority, it might not work. For the kinds of sites that most of us are running, however, it's probably going to do the job. Someone at Google needs to be fired, IMO.

      Not just disregard. They're penalizing sites that have links pointing to them from these networks, to the point of NO Google traffic. Try to rely on Bing and Yahoo to pay your bills - it certainly wouldn't work well for me. And so far, I no of nobody who has filed a successful re-inclusion request - they're just being told to forget about it until all the inorganic links are gone, basically. Good luck with that. You CAN notify them of links you have no control over, though, they do tell you that, but so far that doesn't seem to make any difference. It's VERY, VERY bad news for a lot of people. I know a couple of guys are going to try and set up new sites and do 301 redirects etc, but that doesn't always work well anyway, and I'm really not sure if it's going to work well in a situation like this.

    I'm just making a post with the same issue, and trying to keep in touch with people in my boat. The truth is, there is no rhyme or reason to this madness. The sites which were effected are all on different networks, Gmail/Webmaster Tools accounts, hosting, and everything else. The day of being able to spam your competitors is finally upon us despite what other idiots are saying about google simply disregarding the links. I'm only seeing evidence of direct impact. . . Eventually this will only hurt google as more and more people catch on. They will start delivering crap results to their searchers. Also, this opens an whole new playing field for black hatters around the world!
