As I undrestand a website that is using
Localisation will rank better in the spesific county than a genaral.
I am planning to start new site in english language.
But I would like one of the subdomains to be targeted to a spesifc county..
Is that a smar thing or ahould the whole site be targeted to the single county to have any effect?

Is there nobody that have tryed to have a main domain for a worldwide english speaking audience, and subdomain(s) for spesific countrys? Will that benefit the subdomain for local searches, or is it no difference?

  • Subdomain, or directory (yoursite/country) will not make a big difference. Just optimize the new locations in that countries specific language, or use geotargeting terms with your onsite SEO to attract those local customers.

Thanks a lot geotargeting was what I was looking for..
I have selected a target country in webmaster tools, and use the country name in the site title.
I hope this will make the site targeted to the country..
A county spesific url would probably help even more, but I allready have a .org TLD for this project..
