Just wondering if Yahoo link from paid directory is worth the $ for the yearly membership. client asked and I wanted to know if anyone has any opinion from recent experience or knowledge, since it seems mega steep and can't imagine yahoo being quite as valuable in most SERPs since they were like 5-8 years ago.

Back Link from Yahoo Directory not very much helpful for a site. And yes Other search engines like Google also give don't give much priority to yahoo directories and also not beneficial to get you in SERP. So i guess try to avoid paid and follow some free high PR and do-follow directories.

It depends on your objectives/budget, I think if you have a 3yr+ plan with 100k+ net profit per year then yes it's worth it, it's a nice link inside a PR9 domain human edited directory, google likes manually edited directories because they can't be spammed, they take the signal of a human looking over a site as that being a legit site, it's how google determines whether the site is crap/illegal or not, and my feeling is having a yahoo directory link in your profile providers some sort of stabilizer effect that helps your other links work well, that's been my experience....

Best answer. It really depends on your budget and objective. I wouldn't even think about doing it on my niche sites, but for a client that has a big budget and can afford it, why not? But if you're gonna use half of your budget on this 1 link, there are way better link out there that will cost you less, so you shouldn't do it in this case.

It depends. Some categories have good external backlinks from authority sites. Some categories are crosslinked internally. They have good link juice and may worth submitting to.

Overall, if you have the budget it's a good place to get a quality link.
