Quick question about silo structuring.

Hello.

I understand the 3 groups.

Landing page
Category Pages
Posts

I know about not contaminating each silo, but I'm confused about the linking back up to landing page. Do I just use no follow links? I see in some diagrams people are not linking back to the main page at all, is this how it should be?

Cheers.

Sorry, also...

If I have the menus in the sidebar, does this count as cross contamination?

    Karribu,

A true silo structure would have every link on the page 'no follow', except for the category pages, and the next post in line within each category. All pages should link back to the homepage ('no follow')

Is that clear? It's not easy to explain without a diagram unfortunately

I think so...lol. It's amazing how something that should be so simple turns out into a huge headache.

If the links going back to the homepage are no follow from the category's, then isn't that like getting a back link from a site which is no follow, and pointless? I forget what takes priority, the index page or the category pages.

      Cheers.
