Freelance SEO - How Much Would You Charge

Hi

I would like to age opinions from freelance SEO experts (not large companies).

I have been asked to provide SEO for a company on a long term basis (yearly). I have the skill and knowledge to undertake the job but my long term, ongoing SEO campaigns are for my own sites and while I have always acheived the desired ranking, prices obviously doesn't come into it when working on my own sites. Using the Google adwords tool, one of their targetted keywords has

4,090,000 - Global Monthly Views

301,000 - Local Monthly Views.

They want me to target 4-5 keywords/phrases

My questions are:

How much would you charge per year?
Would you charge monthly or a fixed amount? If fixed amount would this be a one off payment followed by __ amount per month?
How many hours do you put in for each client per day (I have an hourly rate, this is why I ask this).

    How much does a SEO earn in Netherlands? Since the bread has different prices you can't expect a good answer from an indian or canadian SEO. Still I would charge monthly depending on the workload. If you work on your free time you must charge 20-30% more.

    Several of your questions cannot be answered because of lack of information (and no I don't think you should share the details either on an open forum).

    my bet is you are going to get a lot of answers from people who really dont know what goes on in the business world of SEO and think $200 a month is expensive.

    Its recent and its broken down by geography. You have to adjust according to what your client can afford not just what you are worth. Thats if you want to keep the customer- but if you find yourself falling too often below $50 an hour then you are fishing in the wrong pond too often. $50 per hour is still pretty low as you can see from that chart.

    You can charge 100$ per month for one keyword.

    I usually ask client to sign at least 6 month contract and spend around 10 hours/week/client. In your case i believe $500/month would be good price

    £250 a month per keyword is about average here in the UK.

    So at least 200+ euro's per keyword per month. To work "per keyword" is a pretty good tip. Because the time I need to invest may vary and I don't want to deal to much with this. The market is pretty competitive in a way but easier in the sense that it is a dutch company. The keyword phrases are in dutch. Great help guys!

      Let me show you what an old dutch business associate is paying:

      20 keywords
      20 euro/month for each keyword
      12 month contract

      =

      4800 euro/year ex 19% VAT

      Now I assume your keyword is tougher though I doubt a bit about the global searches you mentioned as I hardly can't think of a search term that is so often searched here.

      Anyway, 1000 euro/month wouldn't be too crazy I guess.

      Also how can the kw be local 300k and global 4million as it's a dutch keyword, only in Belgium they speak the same language and their country is smaller then ours. Perhaps you mean exact vs broad match?
