after just starting to use UAW on my website for 5 days i found my site deindexed and got a message through webmaster tools about unnatural link building... my site was at #1 spot prior to starting the UAW so this will be case study that UAW is of the block along with BMR.

im done with blognetworks changing strategy now
#bmr #finished #uaw

Although I have recently canceled my UAW account I have 104 niche websites which mainly through UAW are ranking well. Unnatural link building does mean that you are using a blog network site like UAW, it means that you building too many links too quickly and they are not diversified.

They're only sending those out for "unnatural high PR links". I did a test recently trying to make some sense out of this mess and what do you know - every site I sent bulk links from high PR pages got the message. So be careful.

Sites I blasted with a ****ton of lower quality links (bookmarks, profiles) - no penalties. But they obviously didn't see a big SERP boost either. Seems like they have devalued some lower quality links and just don't care (it's been this way for some time now).

I fully agree, I blasted a site of mine as a test with 100.000's spam links, no message, but like another Warrior mentioned, why would they send you a message if you already penalized/sandboxed yourself.

Well, if this is true, it looks like what is old is now new again.

Whatever happened to create good content, publish good content, and promote that content, along with linking back to your website? Somewhere along the line, this became, create spun content, publish spun content (to a ridiculous number of crap sites), and link back to your website. Then that evolved into spin sun content into crap content, republish spun crap content, and link back to website. Then it evolved into, make some other guy a good living, by publishing crappy content to his crummy blog network, with a link back to our websites.

You can see the steps eroding along the way. The same applies to blog commenting and the hundreds if not thousands people set their software to publish. And don't forget the hundreds and thousands of profile links that everyone thinks is going to vault their sites to the top.

Everyone here who lost a ranking, only you know what you did.

In some cases, less is truly more.

I Use UAW and have seen some dancing up and down the serps for all of the sites with relations to UAW. Atm. the sites are DOWN and i rely on my videos for traffic.

I do not think Google has put down the hammer on UAW however it seems as the sites using UAW "the right way" are getting awarded (got a few one that a thriving).
By the right way i mean DONT do 50 postst of your article pr day.. do 5 or 10.. Make it realistic.. Make sure you post only quality content with a good and readable spin of the article.. If done right, spinning is simply another way of telling the same story. If done wrong, spinning is like a dog trying to speak German.. just makes no sense and are garbage.

I read in another thread here (cant recall which one) that one should consider Google like one would a date or wife.. Google is no longer a teen girl open for wild and experimental adventures.. She has grown up and knows what she want´s
If you fill her house with a 1000 roses each and every day she will after a while start getting pissed off. If you give her little forplay and do not "woo" her she will loose interest.
hehe Getting a bit philospohic here, but it actually realtes really well to SEO.
One beautiful rose that you handpicked yourself and gave "google" will have a better affect than 10 doubtful wallmarkt tulips given to her every otherday.
One dinner made by you and from the heart will be more powerfull than the McDrive once a week.

I hope you catch my drift here.. You will have to be PATIENT, and when you build backlinks you will have to MEAN it. You might not see the results tomorrow or next week.. But in time the base of a long term relationship is build through quality, not quantity..

If you use tools like UAW the RIGHT way it will have a good effect. If you use even Scrapebox the RIGHT way it wil have a good effect. But if abused you will come home to find a note

"I moved back to my mothers, your socalled love simply sufficated me, have a nice life, Regards G."

ALL of this being said, I will be monitoring the situation carefully with regards to UAW as I expect a decent ROI. If UAW no longer delivers the flowers I need to Wuu Google, then I will take my business elsewhere. So any experiences from you guys with regards to negative tendencies from UAW articles is apreachiated.

BMR is definitely finish. Hopefully the other blog networks are being more careful. But BMR getting de-indexed is definitely google's way of sending a message to the other networks.

If you are building a long term business. It's smarter to just build your links by using 100 percent content.

build links to your website pages on your website simple, right. You can post 100 percent unique content on web 2.0 sites.

There's no short term strategy with seo. If you want short term results them pay for traffic.

But really understand what it is your are doing trying to accomplish.

Here's a rattle snake for some of you... People want to complain because Google caught on to the spin spun crappy semblance of articles on crappy sites. And they sent a strong message to the community this is not going to work.

This forum is full of marketers/SEO experts with their WSO's and SEO services hawking these spin spun crappy semblance of articles to these blog directories telling everyone how great this was.

A couple of weeks ago... everyone was complaining because rumor had it Pay Pal was going to stop accepting payments for WSO's. They called it.. FRAUD.

It wasn't just spun content... BMR was unique, manually reviewed only. Some of you ppl just eat the propaganda like there's no tomorrow... it's mind blowing. The fact is that if Google lets Negative SEO hit the mainstream, the good ole' days of SEO are over... and it's going to be a dirty game.

If you got de-indexed completely, then your site must've been pretty ****ty... I mean think about this, a reviewer went to your site, said it's THAT BAD .. that it doesn't belong in the SERPS at ALL...

Google does NOT de-index websites for backlinks... unless your site is real bad.

    Hey Joe,

We are saying the same thing. My point was don't do crappy SEO. It wasn't just targeted at BMR. Albiet, if BMR was truly manual reviewed as you suggest, in my opinion and experience they needed glasses. I had some BMR links/articles pointing to my tier 1 sites created by SEO pro's.

The same thing goes with Senuke X. If you use the wizard with crappy spun articles on 1st tier Social Network sites for example pointing you your money site and keep spamming the same accounts with this crap... don't get mad when the administrator closes your account.

I really don't think UAW is dead. I have been using it religiously for about a year and a half and I have not seen any decline in any of my websites.

The very best way to tell if your articles and links are indexed is to use a VERY unique author name and do an exact search in google for the name and your results will be your indexed articles.

I see no decline in indexed articles. Besides UAW is entirely different than BMR. UAW submits your articles through a plugin to website owners who then can decide whether or not to publish your articles. They are in no way obligated to include your article on their website. Just because you pay a monthly fee for UAW does not guarantee that your articles will be published on a website.

The only thing that will get your backlinks in UAW is good relevant content, just like any other good backlink you might get.

BMR was a private network and you explicitly pay BMR to include your posts and links in the their network, therefore you are paying for links. No different if a high ranking website allowed a backlink for a monthly fee. UAW is much different. It's not a private network, anyone with a website, blog or article directory could receive unique content and have the option to allow it to be published and they receive no direct monetary compensation for publishing your content and links.

If i weren't getting results I wouldn't be paying $67 per month for UAW. If used correctly it is the best service available for article marketing and very effective to get websites to rank well.

If you have UAW and are not getting the results you want, PM me, I'll be glad to take a look at your campaign and steer you in the right direction.

Blog networks still work. I don't use UAW but its been mentioned over and over by me and others. If you want to rank, build quality sites. Use quality content for your site as well as for marketing. And then promote the heck out of it. Using crappy content on crappy web properties is not a long term strategy. Buying a 10,000 profile/comment package from fiverr and linking back to your website is not good SEO. This is not a white hat vs black hat thing. This is about effectiveness.

I think the OP learned a valuable lesson.

      Quality first!

      Then you have to diversify!

From my experience, you also have to take into consideration the age of your site. It looks unnatural in the "eyes" of any Search Engine if a brand, spanking new site gets an unreal amount of links in a short period of time.

I know we live in the microwave age where we want instant gratification, but sometimes slow and steady still wins the race!

Simply assuming that EVERYONE that got hit by this update is doing something dirty is BS.

I can confirm that. Was sent a request from a webmaster to remove an article that was posted via UAW on one of my autoblogs. When I asked him why I must remove it he said he did not give permission for the article and his link. I then asked him then why does he submit it via UAW then if he does not want us to use it? He did not know what I was talking about, did not know who UAW was, never heard of them.

So it sounds like someone was using his content + links in an "unnatural" way.

From both pandad and penguin, this is one thing that Google MUST fix, if negative SEO is at the order of the day then there is no point in continuing. Google has to fix this.

Otherwise the ones on this board who has not suffered could also be targets and MORE legit sites can take a fall...

One thing I did notice in a lot of sites that were ranking well is blog comments.

Many pages that ranked were articles that had dozens or hundreds of comments.

Yes, un-natural backlinking strategies are now an even worse approach than they were before, which is good news for honest and intelligent IMers

A lot of thinking about backlinking is way out of date, and good that Google is making quality and honesty a bit more relevant. Such tools as UAW can still be of use in ranking, I've just read a post here where such things were used effectively post-Penguin, by sending such un-natural links to 2.0 sites, then linking from the 2.0 sites to your own site. Obviously, Google can see this strategy happening too, and at some stage might de-value that as well, but there is always a way to get a site well-ranked, such as building a genuinely high quality site, that visitors genuinely like . . . a major part of Google's algorithm is always going to be spotting where the searcher stops looking at more search results because the site they found is what they wanted. Quality beats black-hat. Good

natural backlink is when a webmaster or a writer see a good content on our site, or any content inside, and make a reference to it on their own website or article.

    when will it happen?
when we have a unique, damn good, like-no-other content.

I think this is what backlinking should happen and Mr G just expect everyone to do as is.

If we do the other way then perhaps it's what called as unnatural?

    apart from ads of course.
which is the main income source of Mr G ...
